About ARA

The Alderwood Residents Association (ARA) is currently a working group of Alderwood residents who share a common goal of making Alderwood a safer andĀ healthierĀ place to live.

We are in the process of starting a full fledged Homeowners Association for Alderwood in Fall of 2011. Stay tuned for more updates.

  1. Great idea and about time. I am a resident of East Alderwood (5 years) and have become increasingly frustrated with the slow flow of important information, concerning our community, reaching our residents. Most recently, the PCB storage facility on Horner Ave. and the Gas fired power plant. In addition, I would like to work with others in our community to lobby for decreasing the speed limit to 40km/h (like residential streets in Bloor West Village etc.). The fact that our quiet, child filled, residential streets share the same speed limit with Browns Line is dumbfounding.

I was also thinking of organizing some sort of homeowners association as well (not in necessarily a leadership capacity…but some capacity) for Alderwood. Please contact me as I would like to offer assistance to this worthy endeavour. Rommel:-)

  2. Glad to know this is available so we can get info on the area. I was born and raised in Alderwood and my dad still lives on Treeview Drive. I will certainly be at the meeting on the 18th. Keep me posted.

  3. Hello
I’m not sure if you can help me but my Grandmothers 100th birthday is in April and we are planning a celebration. She grew up in Alderwood and lived there her whole life until she recently moved to Lyndsay to be in an old age home closer to her daughter to help take care of her.

I was looking to get some contact information about the local paper or newsletter that is distributed in the area for the local Alderwood residence. We were hoping we could write up an article and submit a picture of her party to celebrate where she grew up.

If there is any thing you can offer to assist in getting achieving this goal it would be very much appreciated.
